People have complained that they aren't as sticky as the Silhouette mats, but they are downright sticky as the Silhouette brand is so sticky that I have to peel them off before I can use them. I wish I had bought the easy grip version of these mats. It was difficult to remove the cut cardboard from the mat without twisting it. This was done AFTER using a dry terry towel to remove the adhesive. or 5 times with a large bath towel. Another idea is to write on the clear cellophane wrapper with a permanent marker so it's easy to see! The brand uses an opaque mat cover that is easier to find. I bought 24" mats because I needed to cut several longer pieces. Every time I remove the vinyl from the mat, whether cut or not, it leaves a sticky residue on the backing sheet (first photo - small white dots are sticky). Luckily I used HTV so the residue on the backing sheet isn't left behind values (at least I hope it doesn't matter. I haven't. I haven't pressed any of this with my heat press yet.) I really wanted them to work. They didn't. I have a Cricut Maker and need a lot of intricate cuts and notches. The difference in the size of the mats makes their work unreliable. See photo for size difference. Not only is this rug smaller in length and width, it is also thinner. This means the wheels don't grip properly and it slides a bit.
