Not accurate where precision is required

I bought this leveling bracket to save a few bucks over the parking tool version. Although the suspension looks very similar, the difference is that there is a little play in the tolerances of the axle it spins on. This results in a tool accuracy deviation of 1/8 to 1/4 inch. In general, it is difficult to get a reliable measurement with this amount of scatter in the instrument.

A must if you repair your own bike

After trying to get the rear derailleur set up to no avail, I suspected the derailleur hanger might be bent. Ordered this tool and indeed it showed the hanger was out of spec more than 3 times. Straightening it out and getting rid of those nasty shifting issues was a simple process. My only caveat is that you need to make sure the set screw on the top of the tool is tight enough for the spindle to turn, but with no gap between it and the handle. You will understand what I mean when you receive…

Works fine, nothing more.

Why didn't I buy this sooner. I asked myself this question after buying the instrument. I tried for a long time to adjust the rear derailleur on my touring bike, it shifts just as smoothly as on my other bikes. Hence I was so confident in my mechanical skills and my ability to detect switch misalignment, at least I thought so. After purchasing this tool, it took me 5 minutes to realize that the gimbal was out by 5mm. A little flexing with the tool and a slight adjustment of the derailleur…

Basically one of the best mechanical derailleurs because the cables don't...

I have a 2004 road bike with Dura Ace 7800 series components. Derailleur because the cables don't have sharp turns ride under the handlebar tape. When properly adjusted, shifting is very smooth. I recently replaced the chain and cassette when installing a new rear wheel. I just couldn't get the bike to shift smoothly in all gears no matter how many times I tried. I started from scratch and watched a few videos to make sure I didn't forget anything. Although the bike never fell, the derailleur…

Brilliant tool! Not much more than the cost of multiple switch holders

Love this tool! I feel like a professional bike mechanic, which I clearly am not! Just recently I was trying to control my new mountain bike, came off the loop and fell badly on my butt. The bike collapsed next to the derailleur, bending the derailleur hanger a bit. From that point on, switching sucked. I bent it a bit by hand, adjusted it as best I could and ordered this tool. I watched some videos on the internet and drove into town. I removed the switch and screwed the tool to my hanger. I…

Works just as well as ANY OTHER shifting tool!

Yes, that's right. I brought this to the shop where I work and tested it on the Park model we have. The overall length corresponds to the overall appearance. The Park model is designed so that its square bar (which has the same dimensions as the Cyclospirit) is oriented at a 45 degree angle to that of the Cyclospirit. The Cyclospirit is designed to be dragged on a flat surface - technically you were dragging on the edge of the park, but in reality you were dragging on the two flat sides. Park…
