Not as sharp as advertised

Great looking knife and very comfortable to hold. Not quite what I expected. For $60, I expected a razor-sharp knife right out of the box. I have an inexpensive $17 Rapala that's spicier. I understand I can sharpen it and that would be great, but I really didn't want to shell out another $50 for a professional sharpening that comes out of the box.

This is by far the dumbest new fillet knife I've ever seen or even heard of. He came to me a little sharper than a butter knife. I can't believe the poor quality of this new Dalstrong fillet knife. Does Dalstrong have someone to do quality control? It doesn't look like it. What should I do now. . . Nailed - my favorite knife in my set.

Aaaah, this is the best knife ever! I am a picky, picky chef/butcher and Dalstrong legally supplied this knife. Perfect blade flexibility. Good bend. I can switch between processing meat and filleting fish. The point is handy for detail work, even boning, and the width of the blade makes slicing steaks, medallions and chops almost sexy. Very convenient and manageable.

My first impression when I took this knife out of the box was "WOW, it feels like it's part of my hand". And that's why I was SO disappointed that we didn't have a very good deer season here. I wanted so badly to use this knife this year but I didn't get a chance. However, I've done quite a bit of animal skinning and cleaning and I'm sure I won't be disappointed if I manage to use this knife. Lightweight with amazing balance!

I am a skilled butcher at a popular butcher shop owned and operated by a local family. We may be small, but we release a lot of products. In a fast-paced, high-volume environment, I even work with the weight of my fillet knife, which plays an important role in my productivity. Less wrist fatigue makes the butcher very happy. Blade badly bent straight out of the box

I was really excited to see a Skinner at this price point with such great reviews but I'm afraid it will be returned. Firstly, I don't like it when a company doesn't tell you what steel they use. "High-carbon German" is not steel. They have real names and it's usually a wake-up call when the company doesn't want to tell you what the name is.
