After 3 uses the seals are broken.

Oil leaked like crazy after 3 uses. The 4th time it dripped a little. I estimate 1/2 liter after 5-7 minutes of running. I paid $26.99 for it, but at the time of writing this review, the price has dropped to $17.99. I give it 2 stars because it did its job but wish it was a little more reliable rather than returning it after 3-4 uses or throwing it away.

Good suction pump! for transferring fuel and lube

Used to extract oil from a 5.7 liter Mercruiser. Warm up the engine, removed the oil filler cap, routed the suction line through the dipstick tube, and tied the exhaust side line to a 2.5 gallon used engine oil jug. It took about 15 minutes to dry it. No fuss, no fuss, just sweet, sweet, buttery perfection. It will also come in handy for other tasks in the garage.

  • Nice to use

Works great in the intended use.

I've had this for a while now. The people leaving the most negative reviews are clearly either using it with viscous liquids, which it wasn't intended for, or not allowing cool down time between heavy uses. I am very satisfied with this oil and gear oil product. I have refrained from pumping transmission oil as it is certainly outside of the design parameters of this article and if I kill it it will be my own fault. As said, significant labor savings when working with the liquids it is intended

Unexpected performance degradation out of specification

Unexpected performance out of specification. According to the specification, it delivers 1.5 l/min at a delivery head of 0.7 m at 40°C hot oil. That's 0.4 gpm at 28 inches at 104F. I wanted to pump at about 70F at about 36 inches. What I got was about 1 gallon in 30 minutes or about 0.03 gpm. And those 70 dB are real. So I don't think I would buy this knowing how much performance 12" more at 30F would degrade. I wouldn't buy it if I knew how it worked.

Helped me with a Subaru repair

My first do-it-yourself oil change on a new Subaru Forester didn't go well The drain plug was over tightened and the dealer may not have used a wiper. Even a 6 point head on the switch won't move it. Not wanting to damage the oil pan, I figured it would be best to use "one of those" dipstick pumps. This pump that I bought from Revain drained most of the oil and I was able to complete the change. Based on the amount of oil and the amount of new oil the engine used, I'd say that (maybe) a pint or

Worked well enough for the job

I bought this pump to change AOC, rear differential and right angle or bevel gear oil on my 2011 Volvo XC60. Although the pump was leaking at the connection to the thinner vinyl hose, even though I used the hose clamps that came with it, overall it went pretty well. An alternative to using a pump would be to use a syringe, which would take forever and probably wouldn't produce much oil. This pump was able to pump out viscous gear oil. I lost quite a bit of gear oil when topping up because the…

Can't kill. Seriously

So I bought this as a last resort. I needed a replacement oil lift pump for my oil trailer. I figured I'd use it once or twice until it burned out and by then my big air pump would be fixed. That was over a year ago and the story continues to this day. I fed everything from dirty 15W-40 diesel oil, ATF, heavy gear oil and coolant. hell, almost everything. After a month of daily use, my mission was to kill this thing. So far it hasn't worked. I've pumped 10 gallons of 75W-140 gear oil…

Decent device for transferring low viscosity fluids (not gasoline)

I have used this device to pump synthetic gear oil into the transmission when draining and adding fluid. When changing gear oil in a "sealed" transmission, there was an awkward spot to add fluid. The device draws 4.5 amps at 13.2 volts. I used the power supply I had and set it to 13.2 volts. I tried a 12v 18ah battery I had and the pump drained it in about 40 seconds. Used a power pack with the above settings and it pumped about 1 liter per minute. I used it for a full fluid exchange and ran 10
