Good Quality in Engines and Engine Parts

We have this part for my 2012 Honda Pilot. Talk to my mechanic, he said the brand and part are very good quality. The machine is now two weeks old and everything is running smoothly.

Be careful when installing

The first time I installed a new pulley I didn't take care to tighten it properly as recommended and over-tightened which later resulted in the pulley wobbling and sounding cheap , For anyone wondering, the product is GOOD but the installation instructions are terrible and I feel this could have resulted in a bad experience. DO NOT twist the pulley or you may damage the bearing.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Will the seller/Dayco fix the problem with the product?

The tensioner makes a lot of noise when paired with the Dayco strap I bought. It "knocks" with every turn of the belt and is loud enough to hear in the car even with the windows closed. I wish I had installed it sooner after purchase, I would return it because either it is defective or the box was mislabeled or the quality of this product is very poor.

Works great on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline!

The poly V-belt started to squeak and the belt was in good condition. Alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor turned clean and did not move. One of the idler pulleys moved slightly. The tensioner was cheap and easy to replace, so I replaced it and the belt. After replacement, the noise was not, the tensioner was of good quality. The new one has more tension so hopefully that will solve the problem. I'll update my post if I run into any problems later, I've only had the…

Fits perfectly and works great.

I replaced the original OEM belt tensioner on my 2003 Honda Accord V6 with this one from Dayco. It fits perfectly and seems to work well. My idler pulley (the one in the center of the tensioner) was making a lot of noise (loud howling/squeaking). I decided to just replace the entire tensioner which comes with new idler pulleys and idler pulleys. I removed the front right wheel and loosened the fender liner just enough to get it out of the way. When you remove the tensioner, the middle screw…

Terrible tensioner - FOLLOW THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK

I bought this tensioner 4 months ago because it was cheaper to buy it as a set than to buy 2 pulleys (tensioner + tensioner) separately. In short, the only worthy quality of this device is that the pulleys aren't half bad; the tensioner itself is junk. Long story: I had noise from my accessory belt (V6 Honda Accord 2003). The noise sounded like a bad bearing on the pulley, but I couldn't tell if it was the idler pulley or the tensioner pulley. So I found this product replaced both and for the…
