Not a bad copy of the factory part. The mounting flange is cheap, hollow cast, breaks easily if not installed properly. sealed to prevent water ingress.

Worked fine initially but after 4 puffs the product started making strange noises and eventually failed. Perhaps this will work better in a freshwater environment. Definitely not the last in salt water.

The assembly was not sealed properly and an oil resistant RTV had to be used. The gasket is too small to even remotely seal. But at the end of the day I made it. Now I just have to see how long it lasts. Otherwise the engine looks very good!

I've only had it in the water a handful of times so this review is all about fit and function. is suitable for replacement and works perfectly. WARNING>>> SAVE the small ring that fits between the impeller of this motor and the pump housing below. The motor does not come with a new one.

This trim trim motor lasted 34 days and left me on a lower boat with the motor stuck in the low position. I had to manually jack up the 225 engine, get the boat off the boat and back home. .this has been discontinued in accordance with Merkur's guidance. As you can see from the picture, the brushes in the device are completely worn out in 34 days. VERY DISSATISFIED
