This Shelf Ladder System is well made and useful. I'm a professional painter and need to haul ladders in my truck, but I didn't want to have ladder racks all the time while I drive. Not only does this ladder rack work well, it looks good too and you can just fold it up nice and neat. I've had it for almost 4 months now and it's stable.

I have owned this system for 8 years. The first system broke in the first year. They sent a replacement that didn't survive the winter. All pins are steel and will rust if you live in northern states that use salt. After driving on salty roads, the struts did not fold, all pins are rusted, the strut is open. Completely defeats the purpose of what the system is supposed to do, being hidden.

I bought this truck carrier knowing it wasn't made for heavy use. However, I started installing it and quickly realized that it was a poor choice. Best of all, when the racks are not in use, they look great when folded up. Just want people to know this is a homeowner truck rack! A pair of boards or a kayak or canoe. should be good. I thought I had seen this before but I don't seem to. I mainly use it to transport kayaks. I like the fact that I can put it in the stowed position when I'm not using it. It is really easy and quick to put in when needed and just as easy to close again. It's a little wobbly, wobbly, and not as "hard" as my old ladder frame.
