Easy to install on wooden frame sliding doors

Very easy to install on wooden frame sliding patio doors. Gives me peace of mind that there is a little more protection between me and outside of my home. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a little more security. This installation requires a drill and 1/4" bit, a Philips screw bit, a pencil, and a ruler/tape measure. I installed it in 10 minutes.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Very expensive

Very easy to install and works well

Very easy to install and works well. I don't know how long it will be, but it seems safe. I wouldn't use this as the only door guard, but it's nice to have the extra help keeping the door closed. The real benefit of this is that the door "locks" partially open. This would be good for those who have a dog door installed and need to open it easily. A person cannot close or open the door because the locking pin restricts movement in either direction.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Some issues

Not very strong or durable

I installed this lock and immediately had trouble disengaging the mechanism and retracting the deadbolt. I've worked with it a few times, forced it, and everything seems fine now. What you can't see from the picture is that the slide bolt is pretty thin. When I tested it on the sliding glass patio door, the latch bent to the side. He couldn't withstand even moderate pressure. The sliding bolt enters the body freely and has a large "feed". Obviously, if the door is pulled hard, the latch breaks…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Everything OK

Excellent protection for just over 1 month.

I feel more secure after my husband installed this on our sliding door. Nobody will break through this door. UPDATE: broke after only a few months. The casting just fell apart completely. It didn't require much wear and tear or abuse. We couldn't believe it just started sticking. We couldn't get him to block. Then my husband dropped it. Then we tried to block it. It would be if you tilted it to one side instead of the other. Then it just fell apart completely. The casting seems very bad. We…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
