Delcast SL RL Solder Dispenser Reel Review

To be honest my plumb dispenser wasn't high on my list of priorities. That's how it should have been. This coil worked well and held my 1lb. Kester solder and reliably supplies me with it when needed. Loading the solder onto the spool took only a few minutes and I had no trouble working with it. We don't think about it too much, but sometimes simple things can save us a lot of time and nerves. This role saved me a bit.

As someone who learned to solder when I was about 6 years old I don't quite understand why I've never bought one in the last 30+ years. Maybe it's because my dad always had a wire on his workbench with a spool of solder hanging from it. As I started to get back into my hobby I saw this when I was looking for things that could improve my soldering experience. I'm glad I have one, I'm sure it's very easy to get the drums out of the way and organize them.

I came across this product while looking for solder. I've seen them at work before but never considered having my own. Well I'm glad I made this purchase. Due to the weight of the solder roll, the dispenser does not move too much. This allows you to constantly remove your solder and saves you the hassle of worrying about when to stage solder for a project. You also don't have to worry about chasing a spool of solder around the shop in the middle of a job.

Believe it or not, I bought this item because I thought it was flimsy. I just needed something cheap to make ends meet for a while. I read other reviews that said it was nice and durable but I didn't believe them. The metal is about 2mm thick, and the thing is not good. It doesn't wobble back and forth or back and forth. That's a great offer! You get 2.2 pounds of 63/37 eutectic solder PLUS a spool holder for $38! Where else can you get so much solder for this price, let alone a really handy dispenser? This article is very simple in construction, but it really seems to test everything that can make it good. It's heavy enough to sit comfortably while I pull out the solder.
