Quality Products: Air Fuel Ratio

I think Denso products are better than other brands. I have installed several of their sensors in my cars and they are durable and of good quality. Toyota uses them as an original product in vehicles for all types of sensors and coils and they last a very long time. Their additional acquisition costs are worth the difference in price.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Everything OK

Fits Gen1 3.4L Taco

I always use Denso brand sensors and have never had a problem with them. Make sure you check the PN as Amazon may offer the -9001 version as a 'common bought together' item that 'works' but doesn't fit because the cable is too short. Don't forget to lock the studs for easier replacement after the next 100,000 miles. This will help eliminate the P420 CEL code and possibly P171.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Only available in white

2000 Toyota Tacoma 5VZ-FE 5spd - Works!

After doing my own research, I have found this to be compatible with my truck. The Revain workshop said it was incompatible. I was able to pull the sensor connector out of the cabin. I used a long flathead screwdriver to disconnect the wire harness from the attachment point on the gearbox. I then fished out the original sensor by bringing it into the cockpit. I connected the Denso and routed it through the center hole from inside the cabin.

so good it's been more than a month and .

So far so good, it's been over a month now and I haven't seen the dreaded P0420 code since I got this sensor along with a Denso downstream oxygen sensor and a Denso sensor installed. MAF sensor on my 2000 SR5 V6 4WD Manual Trans Toyota 4Runner with 155,000 miles. I didn't want to change the catalytic converter without trying it first. Two years ago my mechanic just replaced the bottom O2 sensor and it only seemed to work for about 3 weeks and after about two weeks he was still giving me anโ€ฆ

Here is my process for the connector.

Denso can't go wrong. I have used several Denso products on my 2003 Tacoma and have had no problems. Luckily my sensor nuts weren't too rusty so it was very easy to unscrew them. The plug is a different story. I did that and it worked very well. Remove the sensor from the exhaust pipe and let it hang out. Enter the cabin and remove the derailleur boots to access the top of the gearbox. The plug will be there. Disconnect the connector from the transmission so you can move the wiring harnessโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Price that beats the piggy bank

worked great! the problem was in the connector

worked great! the problem was in the socket. It took 15 minutes to replace the sensor and 4 hours to hook it up to the wiring harness. The connector is attached to the top of the transmission, 4 inches between the transmission and the body. I had to remove the shift/gear interlock to access connector 02, unplug the gear sensor connectors and gearbox connector and remove the 14mm screw on the gearbox holding the engine harness on the left side. the O2 connector can be accessed through theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • very good value for money
Cons
  • the cable is shorter than the others

Easy to install replacement parts

Works great and easy to install. This is an OEM replacement as Denso manufactured the original part. Matched to a 2000 Toyota 3.4L DLX manual California emissions. The part comes with the required gasket and the cable is slightly longer than the original part, making installation a little easier. I don't work on my car very often and the thought of doing this job bothered me, but I was glad I went through with it to save about $250 over what the mechanic said. Installation: No special keyโ€ฆ
