🔪 Enhance Precision and Versatility with DEWALT Circular Saw Fence (DW3278) Review

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A CORDLESS SAW! This WILL NOT WORK for the DCS931 Cordless Saw. It cost me $6 to find out. I contacted DeWalt customer service online and they suggested the exact same rip guide. It's a shame if your own customer service offers the WRONG PART!

This is a heavy duty guide/guide that fits my DeWalt DW368 corded circular saw. The photo provided by Revain does not clearly show the mounting screw and spring that came with the box I received (DW3278 August 2018). There is also a size mark on the fence, but this is not visible in the seller's photo. The fence has a durable appearance and fits the saw snugly.

This DeWalt DW3278 fence is perfect for my DeWalt 20V XR brushless circular saw #DCS570P1. It comes with a flat head set screw and a spring in a small plastic bag. Quality shaft, good snug fit, no wobble front to back or up and down. If I ever accidentally bend these at work I will buy them again. I am not being paid for this or any of my reviews.

I had to buy this as I have no idea what happened to the original I had with the saw. Now that I've bought this one I'm sure it will turn up. I don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about. I have a Dewalt DW3278 saw and it fits perfectly. This is definitely an OEM part. Solid and well made, I suspect some people took a chance and didn't pass. In this case just send it back? Finally, if you have a Dewalt Model DW3278 Circular Saw, this is definitely the part and it will fit easily.

This guide actually works with the 575 Flexvolt cordless saw. It fits in the grooves and the hold down screw fits, but after you finger tighten the screw the guide moves back and forth. The scales on the guide are accurate and allow the tool to be used from either side. I assume the instructions are more appropriate for DeWalt corded saws. I bought these for the DCS391B saw but they don't fit. The hole for attaching the DCS391B is 12mm and for attaching this fence is 16mm. I am disappointed that this basic accessory was not included with the saw. I'm also disappointed that Dewalt only has one guide bar on the market and vaguely describes it as suitable for most of their saws, but the product description here doesn't list everything it does or doesn't do. TL;DR: For the true total cost of what you need, you're not far from a Kreg circular saw attachment for around $40. I will do that. The more I buy all the necessary parts that weren't included in the combo kit, the more I feel like I should have just bought the tools individually. Dewalt is VERY misleading as they claim their guide bar fits most Dewalt circular saws. According to their own packaging, it only fits the DWE575, DWE575SB, DWE364, DWS535 and DW384, all of which are mains powered electric saws. Pay attention to the numbers of other reviewers.
