🔧 Durable Replacement Brushes for DeWALT DW988 Drill (2 Pack) - #603754-01-2pk Review

I was happy to see that the drill worked perfectly after replacing these brushes. Don't throw away this drill until you've tried it. A simple replacement for everyone. I don't see any problems with them in the future, but if I have any problems I will come back.

The brushes came quickly and were well packaged. My old Dewalt drill worked fine but smelled like burning when used. I removed the old brushes, cleaned the collector sectors and installed new brushes. They fit together perfectly and now the drill works great like new. And all at a fraction of the cost of a new drill press. Better made than new.

Received Prime delivery in 2 days today. The installation (see YouTube video) in my DC925 took about 10 minutes. After installing the brushes, it turned out that they were not fully inserted. I used channel locking pliers to go over the sides of both brushes and applied gentle pressure. The brushes snap into place easily and stay on (I could feel the spring compression as I squeeze them). My 15 year old drill works great now.

I have used a DeWalt drill for hundreds of hours. Let's fast forward a few years. Unfortunately one day it was smoking and choking so I went online, looked on youtube, found a video that explains exactly what to do and then found the brushes on Revain Prime. After two days it took less than an hour including cleaning dirt and lubricating several spots. It's old, but it will probably serve me now for the rest of my life! Perfect fit and they work great. My DeWalt DW988 has stopped smoking with the new brushes, which is good because this drill is too young to smoke. Ha. Ha. But seriously, there were no instructions, but YouTube exists for it. Just google "dw988 brush replacement" and find the video you like. You will need a torx screwdriver to remove the back cover, needle nose pliers to remove/replace the spade terminals, and a flat head screwdriver to pry out the old brush assemblies. Have fun drilling!
