The product is well made and will last quite well. Used this for my pool pump while waiting for power to go outside properly. The timer worked about 90% of the time but there were a few instances where it never turned off and I checked and the pump ran a few hours after it was supposed to turn off. Aside from those few instances, it worked perfectly. I save it for our Christmas lights so I don't have to go outside to turn them on every night.

This product warns against use for more than 90 days. It is intended for holiday or summer decorations or lighting, and then you have to throw it away. The product documentation says to hire an electrician for a permanent fix if you need it longer than 90 days. We wanted it to be a year-round water garden, so apparently that's not working for us. Not sure if this could start a fire or just stop working. The weather protection of this device is also not very good.

That's almost $40 I can't get it back. Bought for my husband's annual Christmas lights, he was so excited to use it and had two separate expansions the first night. There are 250 strings of lights attached to each of them and after just an hour they melted / caught fire and couldn't be used all season! This remote control socket works very well. It's quite compact, but holds six outlets. It has options to turn it on by light sensor and the number of hours you want it on, as well as a remote control. The remote control works through the house wall (bricks) and makes it very convenient to turn on the evening garden lights. Bought to turn on the waterfall automatically 4 hours a day. The auto-on instructions are very confusing. When I figured it out after playing around with it for a few days, it turned on at the same time for 4 hours every day. BUT, one night I accidentally turned it on with the remote, and guess what?
