Item arrived well packaged and on time. My mechanic noticed that the points weren't working and fixed them. Also, it's running now! 1946 ford 2n

One of the best parts for my 8n. Many replacement parts are very disappointing but they were high quality and worth everything I paid. My old distributor got beat up.

Disassembled manifold prior to installing this unit as many of these removed parts were reassembled with incorrect or defective/unnecessary parts. This distributor comes with NAPA/Echlin points already installed and ready to use. Seems to be working fine!

This is a poorly made Chinese distributor that doesn't work because when turning the breaker plate to synchronize the distributor when the contacts are just opening the screw has to come in contact when the spring coil of the Primary winding is too close to the distributor housing, shorting the coil primary to ground and not sparking. Looked good installed but tractor won't start. I took it off and looked into the point distributor, although there was a piece of tape there that said removing the cover would void the warranty. The tips were bent and wouldn't close and in my opinion, incorrigible. Replaced the rotor and distributor cap with my old distributor and new coil, installed it and the tractor runs great. Poor quality control and waste of money.

later It's crazy that I can order new parts for my 80 year old tractor and lawn mower but it makes these old tractors a stylish bargain. Turns out I didn't need this fully assembled distributor (it was a coil), but it was a plug-in unit. I checked the dot wrap before installing and it was already installed correctly. This is the second Ford 8N distributor I have purchased and they both had the same issue. Instead of returning this distro, I decided to disassemble it and find out what the problem was. The mechanical leaf spring proved too stiff for a proper feed curve from idle to 2000 max rpm. Each weight has two leaf springs.
