Good sharpener for hand tools

My new standard for knife sharpening. I'm a little fan of sharp kitchen knives. I used to buy a belt sander with specialty belts to sharpen my collection. Because of the sharpener's very flat surface, I get a better edge with these sharpeners than with a sanding belt. My only complaint is that they are a bit small, but for the cheap price I'm happy with them. I use the knife in small circles when dry sharpening and get good results.

I have a red/thin card and a green/extra thin card. If you only get one, you'll get red/good. This is the most helpful. You can sharpen a blade in good condition in about 30 passes and a blade in very poor condition in about 80 passes. Removes the right amount of metal. If the blade is really in bad shape, you can take off enough to make it normal again. But it's not so rough that a bad pass or two ruins the edge. It would be incredibly difficult to sharpen a knife with just this card. I would…

I have never had a tool like this and it is easy to use. He's excellent at sharpening knives, my ax and chisels. You wet a credit card-sized tool and set it at a 20-degree angle, and that's it. Good results in a few moves. The card needs to be moistened with water, but I had to water it often. That is not important. You wash it with regular dish soap and use a stiff washcloth to clean it.
