20,000 miles down: Parts

I take care of my car and do all the necessary maintenance. Installed June. In December it started to creak. I'll have to replace it again soon.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Good but not great

Tensioner clamping nut broken off.

The strain relief nut broke while trying to put the belt on. I managed to put a belt on, but now I'm concerned about the structural integrity of the part. My son's car is in a different condition so I can't take it off to send it in for exchange and that's the only way to replace the part. Spend more money to get the best.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Only lasted 9 months

Quality looks good, fit is good too but only lasted 9 months. This is the second stretcher I've bought. The first one was even cheaper and only lasted 2 months. Lesson learned. I had to spend the money I spent on these 2 on the OEM part. If you buy cheap, you buy twice! Replacing this part is no fun.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

So far, so good. Pulley no longer clicks/rattles

So far, so good. No more idle clicks/rattles. I was just going to replace the pulley but decided the tensioner itself would fail soon after the pulley. At $63, it's cheaper than most other clamps I've seen and, despite a little extra work, is worth the reassurance.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Get rid of the creaking strap. Still chirping.

Got rid of the squeaky belt. It still chirps a bit at idle, but it doesn't bother me anymore. If you put water on the belt and the noise goes away and gets louder again, that will solve your problem. The product itself appears to be of satisfactory quality. OEM was definitely more powerful. It's PITA to get out. You have to lift the motor on one side and pray that the pivot pin comes loose. Heat the shit out of him! BELIEVE ME.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I bought it in Revine a long time ago, but.

I bought this in Revine a long time ago, but when I received it I noticed that it was made in China. I kept it in reserve until there was doubt about its quality and then installed it in Toyota 1zz -ff ait and made noise through the year and 12540 km was installed. The noise comes from the tensioner damper when the transmission is in D and R, the noise is greater at minimum and when the brake is applied. This is disappointing.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Little things

So far so good: spare parts

So far, so good. Works fine on my Pontiac Vibe and I put on a new belt to complete the job. It definitely took a lot more effort to loosen the tensioner to mount the new belt. The annoying chattering at the start is gone now and hopefully stays that way. The item looks and fits OEM. There are no installation problems. For those who don't already know, you MUST remove the 3 bolts holding the engine mount to the body, jack up the oil pan with a piece of wood and jack up the engine 1/2 to 1 inch…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price
