Works with 6.2 liters! fits headers and parts

Worked great on my 6.2L 08 Escalade. I don't know why they don't advertise 6 2L. The affairs of the competitors. I rolled and it worked great. Be sure to connect the water temp sensor while the bolts are loose BEFORE tightening and tightening them. I cut the locking tab on the fork to make it easier to repair. Also use a hammer and pry off the metal heat shield on the manifold. No need to cut.

Worked great! - Spare parts

Used for the second time. First on the 2004 2500HD 6.0L and now on the '06 Suburban 5.3L. The only thing in question is the torque rating of 18 ft.lb. at the central screw that presses on the manifold. I have a pretty good feel for the bolt when tightening and felt like it was tightened before my torque wrench hit the mark. Finally, make sure you have some kind of high-temp threadlocker/sealant before you start. None of these come with braces!

  • Stylish and modern design

Didn't work for me for spares

I tried this to save effort by avoiding pulling out the entire distributor and pulling out the broken bolt. However, my header was slightly bent, which was probably the cause of the broken bolt issue. The yoke didn't even make a half as good seal and just bent the screws and yoke as I tightened it further. Probably works if everything else is aligned, but useless as a patch if something is wrong. I ended up replacing the distributor and using an ABN bolt extractor kit here at Amazon, which…

Great product for my 2009 Tahoe exhaust

Dorman 917-142 addressed the exhaust leak on the rear right hand exhaust manifold. 2009 Tahoe. Of course, I wish Chevy used heavier bolts to attach the exhaust headers to the heads. This Dorman exhaust clamp works on both front left and rear right. I had to remove the right front wheel and inner fender to get to the spot. There is a heat shield which complicates things, but the start and finish took 3 1/2 hours. This is the best way to repair the areas of the exhaust manifold where the mounting

Save a life/wallet! - Exhaust & Emissions

Great and innovative product! The last thing I wanted to do was take my exhaust manifolds off and try to get the broken bolt out (I didn't want to pay $1200 or so either) to have the shop do it. That's why I chose this one. I saw this type of product originally from KralAvto, but the Dorman was slightly cheaper, the only significant difference between the two brands is the end of the "clamp" screw. Kral welded a nut to the end of the "hold" bolt, I think to increase surface pressure, Dorman is…

The good old Chevy swoosh is gone! Silverado 2500 HD

Well you're probably reading this because your Chevy sounds like a Chevy ie. classic tick-tick-tick header. I went with a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, but it will fit almost any LS engine (5.3, 6.0, 6.2, etc.). Little did I know until I loosened my header bolts that this is actually a very common problem on LS engines. Come on Chevy, you have a known problem and you're still using manure manifold bolts. It's so common that Dorman have this patch to save you hundreds of repairs. FIRST I would…
