The bracket fitted perfectly, but the shock nut did not fit.

Brackets bolt on easily and fit great. The included nut that holds the top of the shock to the strut did not fit. It felt like it was the wrong size. My local nut and bolt shop couldn't find a suitable one. They suggested that the powder coating covering the threads was too thick. I ran the die over the threads, scraped off the powder coating and the nut fitted as expected. I tried brushing off the powder coating with a wire brush but it didn't work. If you want to try the Matrix it is 12mm…

It is recommended to use carbide drill bits to drill existing holes.

A friend of mine tells me I installed these parts that you can't buy. Over the weekend in my 01 FORD Ranger XLT 4x4. And they didn't just install in minutes (after removing the stock bracket, it took a lot more than a few minutes. I recommend using carbide drill bits to drill out the existing mounting pins that attach the existing shock base to the vehicle frame). but I'm now able to do smoky burns all over town again! In my opinion it's best to bore them out

Had to take all saws to factory assembly due to broken nut. Got my Dorman Mount early. Installed today with the help of my son in law. I sanded the factory rivets, took the bottom one out from the inside, I had to remove the rear tire to sand the top two and started fitting the frame. grinding stopped. Started drilling so I unscrewed the rivets. Drilling is the best way in my opinion. They are still not easy and are the main and biggest problem. My Dorman mount looked exactly like the factory…
