OEM is the way to go.

Got used to the spongy feeling after installing the master cylinder. Yes I bled and yes I bled. I kept my old OEM master cylinder to rebuild.

Pros
  • Satisfied
Cons
  • Will be added later

Same as OEM: Hydraulic parts

Excellent master cylinder, easy installation, was the same gasket used? Pumping on the bench, following the instructions with no problem, it took 30 minutes for the pedal to hit the floor gently.

Pros
  • best in their niche
Cons
  • unreliable

Brake System Part

was damaged on March 2, 2019 The part itself works and my truck stalls. The reservoir sits on two seals and has brake fluid flowing through it. The product is not high quality but affordable. In the near future I will buy another master cylinder. Update May 30, 2019 part failed. The pedal became spongy after 2 months. Replaced with another master cylinder and the symptoms were gone. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • failed Few competitors

Bad product Good for me Braking system

Installed on a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L 2wd. Perfectly matched. It is very difficult to squeeze out the blood in front of the hand, this sucker hurt my hand and arm. After I installed it and bled the lines, this MC didn't stop my truck. Terrible. Maybe there was a small gap in the push rod now because its tolerance wasn't as accurate as it should be. I also found a leak in the reservoir area where it joins the cylinder. Back to Revan. I replaced it with another brand and now my car is stoppingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Solid workmanship
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Fits 1996 Tacoma 2.4 5 Speed โ€‹โ€‹2WD no ABS

For now all I can say is that it fits right into my Tacoma. With vent plug and good instructions. Dorman's website states: Limited Lifetime Warranty. A little embarrassingly, there is no mention of a warranty on the Revain website. Bought for about $63, delivered. I'll get back to you if I have any problems. My stock unit died at about 95,000 miles (looks early. But it's been many years. From 1996 to 2014). You need brake fluid. Install these and after installing the new MC, flush the old brake

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Minor issues

Could have killed someone

0 stars. I did brakes on my truck, new rotors, pads, lines, caliper repairs and decided I would replace the original master cylinder in 240,000 miles. After installation I bled the system but after a few bleed cycles I had no pressure at the bleed holes. After going in circles for several hours, I finally decided that the problem was with the newly installed master cylinder. I reluctantly took it apart again and found that the piston was stuck in the cylinder. In the end, simply reinstall theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Security

like most non-genuine parts were not finished either.

My review is still for fit and initial function, I haven't had this in a very long time so if it breaks I will come back and replace it. I installed this on a Tacoma in September 1994 (first year, first run). My original had 21 years and 185,000 miles. It only broke because my wife bled with me and she kicked all the way to the bottom and broke the seals on the original before I warned her about it. I installed it on Saturday (April 18th). 2015) and stood perfectly. This item, like mostโ€ฆ
