This is a great upgrade for these transporters

This fixes a weak point in the cooling system of these transporters. I bought it on the recommendation of a local technician. I was planning on installing it as an upgrade and ordered it when the factory plastic assembly failed at about 50,000 miles. I installed this in my garage and it should be within the skill of most home mechanics. I've decided to upgrade the clamps that came with the unit to wire clamps, but that's not really necessary. I also took the opportunity to change the thermostat

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Unreliability

OEM update! A good product.

This is one of the few aftermarket products to exceed OEM specifications and performance. Metal hardware is an upgrade from cheap plastic that breaks every 50,000 miles. This is my first set and they seem to work great. Installed on Chrysler T and C 2010 with 3.8 engine. I was a bit disappointed that they use regular screw clamps on the fittings but they get the job done. I have adjusted the position of the clamp on mine so that the screws are accessible when installing, otherwise they face…

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Hard to say

Just what your 2010 minivan needs to last longer

The plastic Y-parts on my 2010 minivan (3.8 liter engine) have not failed yet. I have found that the original Y's are made from Nylon 66 which has a shorter life than desired. Mistakes at 60,000 miles are common, but I've had 65,000. Look on YouTube, there are many videos on this topic. So since I was changing the coolant anyway, I bought this Y-hose set, mainly because the plastic is now aluminum and doesn't wear out. hooked up and bought this complete build. It was easy to install. There…

Metal Hose Guard

Do you really think plastic can withstand 220 degrees of water flow and engine vibration? I'm tired of changing plastic every year or two. Also tired of cracking in the most inconvenient places. Do you really think it will fail in front of your workshop or garage? Putting him to bed once and for all is worth a little more. I gave it a 3 for installation because no part of the cooling system is easy to install.

Pros
  • Complete replacement - hoses come with the necessary clamps for easy installation
Cons
  • Big and bulky
