Dr Ph Martins 400869 XXX Calligraphy Review

Very happy with this ink and the variety of colors in this set! Yes, the mica/glitter will settle to the bottom and you'll probably have to shake it several times each time to use it (make sure you shake it until everything in the bottle is smooth before using), but it's still more convenient than using a brush with metallic watercolors on a nib for a similar glossy effect, and I didn't have to dilute it at all to get a smooth flow from a permanent marker right out of the bottle. All colors only needed about a minute of continuous shaking for the ink and (I think) mica dust to mix. None of these were sticky or looked like they weren't sealed properly (there are no leaking bottles in my set). All eyedroppers work with no clogs (like some paints I've ordered from Revain) that need to be cleared first. Colors are bright enough but not as dark as I was hoping. Great iridescent ink. I use them on a variety of projects including adding a lovely added touch to paintings, wedding invitations and vows. Ink density is excellent. I only ever have pens or brushes with Dr. F. used Martin's ink (rainbow or other) and had no bleed issues and the ink colors are true to life. What you see (after the ink in the bottle has been properly shaken/mixed) is what you get when you write and after a few weeks. Once dry, the ink is waterproof (depending on the pen used)…
