Description of ๐Ÿ”ง Precision meets Efficiency: Exploring Drill America Qualtech High Speed Uncoated Cutting Tools

High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Available in round shank with square end. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. 0.1029-inches short end and 0.1302-inches large end.

Disappointing Reamer for Industrial and Scientific Use

This reamer was a major letdown. The quality was subpar and it struggled to make even cuts. The only positive was the affordable price. Unfortunately, the lack of precision and durability outweighed any cost savings. It is not worth investing in this unreliable and ineffective tool.

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting
Cons
  • Not suitable for use on harder materials such as stainless steel

Worked almost too well.

This thing is so good at its job I almost tired my fly base. Apply light, even pressure and try to assemble your parts often, that's the advice I would give on this thing. It starts out slow but as it gets deeper it shrinks very quickly.

Pros
  • .1029" short end and .1302" large end
Cons
  • I'll add later

Enlarging and reshaping taper pin holes

We have security gates with a post and the posts are connected to the gate shaft with taper pins. Over the years the conical hole has grown larger, more drilled and elongated. Passing it through the shaft and strut mount allowed me to fit the next larger pin. I used a slow speed drill to widen the holes.

Pros
  • Available with square stem
Cons
  • Without automation
