    Does the job well and more

    Most people buy these to expand their USB connection. I buy them for front panel wiring. 99% of motherboards now stick to the standard pinout for front panel indicators and buttons, a 5x4 pinout with only 4 pins actually used. This layout is identical to the internal USB connector. I use it to connect the front connector of the mainboard and then cleanly connect the individual cables at the back.

    Done wrong: USB cable

    Firstly if you are using this for USB it has 10 pins instead of 9 so you will need to remove one of the male side pins before using it assuming you have a female side with it a solid corner (like most). Second, it consists of two bundles of wires, each with five wires. One goes to the top layer of five pins, the second goes to the bottom layer of pins. The particular cable that arrived for me was made with them in reverse order. Namely, the upper layer of the male side moves to the lower layer…

    IMPROPERLY ATTACHED for computer accessories and peripherals

    I ordered 2 of these and BOTH were incorrectly attached. It's quite difficult to put the pieces together with my picture and it took me a while to diagnose my problems because it appeared to be connected correctly, but each row of 5 wires is correct left to right (red, white, green, black, yellow), but the banks are reversed.     10 Pin Cable to 9 Pin Cable

    You need to cut the pin off the connector and make sure you connect everything 100% right, 100% of the time so you don't risk ruining your systems extra Pin and fill the excess hole with super glue or throw it all in the bin.

    Not all USBs are created equal. Make sure it works with your motherboard.

    I bought it after reading "USB" in the description. However, not all USB cables are created equal. In my case, I needed a 9-pin USB 2.0 patch cable with pin #10 missing on the male side and pin #9 on the female side blocked. Therefore this cable does not work. Be sure to check if you need a 9-pin or 10-pin cable before purchasing to ensure you have purchased the correct cable for your motherboard.

    If I had the choice. suitable for cables and interconnects

    Can be used with my ASUS B550 motherboard. I had to remove the pins from one end and reattach them in the correct places to match what was needed. The clamps were not evenly tensioned, some were very tight and the pair was a bit loose. But like I said, it seems to be working.

    I used a clip to pry the tiny plastic tabs and remove the extra pin on the connector and insert the extra terminal on the connector. I think that's all it takes if you're using it as an extension cord with another cord. I use it as an extension cord with a small PCB device so I had to rearrange the cords so they don't get twisted to one side. There doesn't seem to be a one size fits all cable, but it has good flexibility, allowing cables to slip out and be rearranged. If I had to do this work…

    Someone doesn't know what a USB port looks like on a motherboard. It still works, just bend the pin and check. If it doesn't work, bend it back and try bending the other corner. It wasn't like that for me at first. 2 stars for the installation because it is cumbersome. No glue, hence one star, but that's also outdated, Revain should remove that from the rating. I haven't checked the data transfer as I'm making a Silverstone WiFi module to power on the PC. You don't have to transfer any data.
