The upholstery material falls off. DO NOT BUY.

DO NOT BUY! ATTENTION TO THE BUYER! These pads are garbage! The padding material came loose on one side in the middle of descending a steep descent and eventually broke. I rode these pads 10 times and injured my knee and shin. I am angry.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Nothing

Works great with SRAM Guide T 4 pistons

They're quiet, offer great braking performance and come at an unbeatable price. I had to file my first pair a bit to avoid scratching the new rotors. I did this very carefully with the Dremel Tool, just for fine tuning. Very important. I have just bought a second time now.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Clear

Buy them again from Cycling

Bought for SRAM Guide R to replace the stock polymer pads. This metal lasted the entire West Virginia Enduro Series season on both bikes and even bombarded the Snowshoe World Cup downhill course for several days. Very quiet and excellent performance in all conditions. A significant improvement over OEM polymer pads.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost OK

They work, the price is right

They're holding up well and aren't making any noise yet. and it doesn't matter, these inexpensive gaskets don't include a screw or locking ring. No problem with the screw but after I removed the old chuck ring it was badly deformed and difficult to straighten out to use. Because of this, next time I will pay more to get a locking ring.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Working speed

Perfect for SRAM Guide

I was concerned about the fit, particularly the overly thick padding based on other reviews but it worked well. I couldn't get the rotor in between on the first try, but noticed that the caliper piston wasn't fully back. The pistons must be completely flush with the brake caliper! After that he slid right in. ***** Update ***** After a few rides, including descents, I'm happy with these pads, quiet and good braking performance.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Reliability

Last material coming off the backing

I rode these lasts once a week for one season. They worked pretty well. Then the pillow failed. Almost all of the upholstery material just fell off. I could live with that, but I put on a different set and one of the pads lost all pad material on the first ride. Luckily, this happened at a time when hard braking wasn't critical. I would avoid that. I've used other regular pads with no problems and have never seen failure like this in decades of riding.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Holes need to be drilled/aligned for guide pins

I bought two pairs of these brakes from my SRAM Guide R brakes layered assembly went of the two pads and the central spring. Bore size and spring alignment seemed to be the main culprits, so I used a 1/8th bit drill through the entire assembly and checked the pin before installing it in each caliper. After that, the pads seemed to work decently on the first ride. with new pads and new rotors - it took a while for the pads and rotors to fully align but I don't think there was a problem with the…
