Type I safety can used to store, transport, and dispense flammable liquids safely; comes with a funnel to facilitate filling and pouring. Made of galvanized steel, which is resistant to rust, dents, and certain chemicals; powder-coated finish resists scratches, chipping, fading, and other wear. Flame arrestor helps prevent liquids inside the can from igniting and keep flames from spreading. Spout cap self-closes to help prevent leaks or spills; cap assembly opens automatically to vent internal vapors. FM Approved; complies with OSHA Standard 1910.106 for the safe storage and handling of flammable liquids.

Corrosion on arrival

I ordered a Yellow Eagle jerry can marked for diesel and it's fantastic although I use it for petrol instead of diesel because of the liner. No rust and I expect it to last for years. Two green ones in a row were rusty right out of the box under the handle. The first one was rusty as was the replacement I ordered from amazon.com. If it's so rusty on the outside, how does it look on the inside? What pollutants end up in the fuel tank when the inner lining is just as bad as the outer lining? It…

It works fine but leaks

Bought this one and not the yellow one because I'm switching between kerosene and diesel for my Topedo heater depending on how expensive it is at the time. The glass is whole but defects were noticed when it arrived. There were very sharp spots where the manufacturer welded the handle to the top. I took them off to avoid cutting myself while holding the gas can and it seems to have worked. The disadvantage of Type I fuel cans is that the plastic funnel is snug but still leaks through the neck…
