Amazing to see the rear window and tailgate brand new again! The rear window opens now! Don't stand too close! First, make sure you have the correct tailgate damper tool. Pay attention to the orientation of the originals, do not load them upside down. IT'S A JOB FOR TWO PEOPLE. Have someone hold the tailgate while you remove the original one and install the new one. Power window shock absorbers have these metal clips, use safety glasses when removing the clips.

Bought for my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The old ones no longer held the tailgate or sliding window. After the purchase I realized that I needed a bigger star bit. I went to the local auto parts store and after 10 minutes I threw away the old ones. As others have said you will need to lift the tailgate (when opening) higher than normal to properly align the mounting hardware. Installation was easy and the back door and elevator window work just as good as new.

Works great so far! The tailgate and windows go up quickly and remain in place without any problems. It is recommended to have an assistant to hold and maneuver the door/window during installation. Window supports work as they should, gate supports do not. The gate supports shoot through the hatch quickly and are not cushioned. The gate slams in the up position with such force that I believe continued use could damage the hinges. Compared to OEM poles, they are significantly smaller and lighter. My original jeep kit Rear door sunroof pillars have quick release ball joint sleeve ends and to be clear the lift glass pillars in this 'kit' have these correct fittings but the tailgate sunroof pillars in this kit did NOT equipped with OEM hubs. The pictures don't really show what you need to see and I assumed the cleats were just removable.
