The cheapest I've found and they work great. Will be updated if they go out of service quickly. My old ones were completely broken. On these new ones, I pull the handle and lift them about 12 inches and they raise the tailgate all the way up. Tahoe 2003.

My 2002 Suburban's tailgate pillars were getting rotten. I had to manually raise the tailgate above my head and then it wouldn't stay open all the way. I often hit my head walking under it. These new struts were easy to install and they raise and hold the tailgate as much as possible.

I think looking back the tailgate struts on my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban gradually weakened until one day they came out completely. Ordered these replacement parts and they were delivered quickly. Repairs are easy and the new frames are strong and durable. 5 Stars!

Ready to use. Super durable. Raises the door completely by itself after I open the handle I just let go and the super heavy sunroof opens by itself. I have a Gmc Yukon XL with fairly heavy doors. At least that tailgate is heavy anyway. But yes, direct factory installation. I didn't even have to undo the clamps, it literally snapped into place.

These racks work great on my 2002 Suburban. Don't bother testing them by hand as they come under too much stand pressure. Install them and they go up and down with little effort. I noticed on the blog that a lot of people tried to test their spacers and thought they were broken because they won't compress when pressed by hand. Just a note

So far so good. Easy installation, but (WARNING)! My tailgate was only supported by one pillar. Unfortunately, without supporting the gate, I decided to replace it first. When the old post was removed the gate collapsed damaging my car and injuring me. The door on my Suburban is very heavy. My fault! Ask a strong person to help swap out the racks. These jacks replaced my 2000 struts on my Chevrolet Tahoe. It's amazing how well they work. I literally take them out of the box and install them. It is so easy. All you need is a flathead screwdriver to remove the old overhead supports. Make sure the hydraulic side is up and push it back into place. I used a 70" x 2" piece of plywood as a dead man to hold the gate up when I removed the old supports, but a broomstick will work. Make sure you prop it up, or at least have someone hold the gate…
