Purchasing this adapter was the culmination of terrible network problems since the launch of Windows 10. The failures came very slowly and had a subtlety that made me ignore the problem . I didn't even realize that the problem was actually the adapter I had (TP-LINK TL-WN722N), instead blaming it on my ISP (Comcast). After some searching I found that the main problem was that Windows 10 was causing interface problems with USB network adapters. After researching network adapters that were not…

The product is good unless you stumble upon it

I really liked this Wi-Fi adapter. It worked really well, I don't think I've ever had a problem with it not being able to find a signal or getting stuck on a signal. The speed has been fantastic, there has never been a case of this device interfering with internet speed. The only problem I have is the size. He was big enough to work that well, but either I would hit him while I was at the computer or one of my kids would hit him while he was sitting or getting off my lap. In the end it broke…

You can use this board on Raspberry Pi and ODROID-XU4 but not on Mac.

If you want to use this on Raspberry Pi you will need to follow this guide to make it work please search "Use rtl8812au wireless adapter on Raspberry Pi". If you want to use this on ODROID-XU4, the driver is already built into its Ubuntu Mate image, but you need to plug it in before running ODROID-XU4 for this adapter to work. Yes. You can connect to a 5 GHz hotspot on both Raspberry Pi and ODROID-XU4. I also tried using this on a Mac (macOS Sierra). I installed the driver but cannot use it to…

I wouldn't buy it for a notebook.

I used this on a 13" MacBook Pro that didn't have the built in network card/antenna working. I chose this to replace a small USB network adapter with a weak connection. I liked the small one Form factor, but that's about it. I returned the device for the following reasons: 1. Unable to provide technical support after it stopped working 2. Device wouldn't reconnect after the computer went to sleep, and you had to keep disconnecting/reconnecting the device 3. The shape of the case was too wide…

Super fast, easy installation and beautiful!

Just received this adapter and I am stunned. I have a 200Mbps connection through Comcast. To date, I've gone from 38Mbps to 51Mbps on various devices (PC, laptop, Android phone, 4s). Just before installing the AC1200, I ran a speed test and got 52Mbps over the built-in WiFi (Dell XPS 8500). After a very quick and easy installation (I pre-installed the latest driver), I verified that the adapter worked on a 5GHz connection, and then started the test. I am impressed. In two tests I first got 168…

The third time can be a spell. This one seems to work.

This is my third AC1200 network adapter. The first one was totally unreliable and I sent it back. The second had periods of uninterrupted service, but eventually would disconnect and sometimes spontaneously disconnect at least once a day. By then, Revane's return period had expired. I used a sub $15 AC 450 adapter from the same manufacturer as the AC 1200 #1. It worked great. Bought it as a last try. I've decided to stick with the AC 450 in case of failure. So far so good. Works for a few…
