Unfortunately, this flower bulb pot broke within 1 day in the garden. We have clay soil but we added a lot of topsoil so I figured this bulb planter would handle that. After digging about 10 holes, he bent and the spring in the handle popped out. Tried to fix it - to no avail. I'm trying to get a refund from the company :/

Planted 30 tulip bulbs in 24 minutes yesterday, net included. It worked properly and held dirt well. Note that the depth is only 4 inches. My tulips needed six inches so I had to push them a little below the surface of the dirt. This wasn't a problem for me but should be considered if you have bulbs that need to be planted deeper.

This makes planting the bulbs much easier and cleaner than with a shovel. You just click where you want to plant the bulb with a twist. You pull out the mud tube that the planter holds ready for you. Insert the bulb, loosen the dirt with thumb pressure, step on it to pack it back up, and voila, you're done, and even your mulch on it is still in place.

I have mobility problems, but I still enjoy working in the garden. This summer I planted SPRING bulbs for the first time - last year I planted autumn bulbs - and I used my new flower bulb planter. My garden life! So much faster and less stressful on my body for a number of reasons. Why didn't I buy this many years ago?! I also only use it to make holes for other plantings. To be honest this didn't work for me. I thought it would be a super tool for planting bulbs, but ended up using a small hoe. This works fine for indenting the ground and indenting in a circle BUT "grab part of the ground" doesn't work. still fails. This may be user error as it requires a strong hand to press. I have read many different reviews that this bulb planter was strong enough or not strong enough and after trying to use it myself I would say that he would be really great for planting in raised beds or plowed beds. I tried using it in the soil around my house and it worked fine for the top 3-4 inches, but once it reached the clay it wouldn't go any further.
