Hook too long. Downforce was out of the question. I damaged the car vent trying to remove the hooks. I have an Akron model sold at Revain and I would choose it any day, not this one. If you buy this one, if necessary, file the end of the hook FIRST so you don't have trouble removing it like I did.

Not mounted. But there are a few pictures in the description on Revain to help put it together correctly. Mine came together easily. I don't know why or how the original broke but replacing it for $7 is great. I like the little clip, it holds certain Harmines very well (with round baffle on the back). Place on the dashboard above the air vent.

Sometimes you get what you pay for. I bought two different versions of it. I have tried this mount on two of our vehicles. Wouldn't fit either. I tried using horizontal and vertical ones but it just didn't hold up. I was able to get the mount to stay secure in our Nissan Murano, but any bump or touch would make the Garmin fall to the ground. They are cheaply made from ABS plastic. I recommend looking for a different type of vent mount.

This product is cheap and there is clearly no quality control wherever it is made. The part broke in one day. I put it on my windshield around 7pm last night, went shopping and this morning I went out and washed my car. Came home and as I was getting in the car the GPS fell off the windshield. I parked, took a closer look and noticed that the actual suction area had completely moved away from the hand itself. It's a pity, it's not even about money, it's a waste of time.

I recently left an original Garmin suction cup mount in a rental car. So far this works fine. The hinge isn't as firm as Garmin's original, but the Nuvi holds its own. And honestly, the ball swivel on the Garmin was too tight. I've had no trouble installing or removing the GPS from the mount and the suction cup hasn't fallen off since it was first attached to the windshield. Let's see what happens in the summer when the car warms up.
