Description of πŸ”Œ High-performance Diesel Normally Closed Electric Solenoid Valve

Constructed of industrial grade brass, this valve is corrosion resistant, more conducive for welding, optimal for higher temperature projects, and can be used with gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene oil, natural gas, air etc. Due to the chemical composition of brass, this valve should NOT be used with projects involving drinking water or other water projects. This valve was manufactured with a VITON seal. VITON is the most durable and high performance rubber material with the ability to resist high temperatures and corrosive chemicals and other fluids like gasoline, diesel fuel, oils, and lubricants. This highly responsive valve will open and close in less than 1 second when actuated; meaning it will open or close the flow instantaneously when energized or de-energized. Also, our U.S. SOLID engineers have determined that the life cycle of this valve is well over a million cycles with proper operating conditions and maintenance. PLEASE NOTE: This valve is NOT a continuous duty valve and should NOT be in continuous use for more than 8 hours in a single cycle; to do so will shorten the life of the valve and may cause the core of the valve to burn out. If you need a continuous duty valve for your project please search for our U.S. SOLID Motorized Ball Valves. As with all U.S. SOLID products, this valve comes with a ONE YEAR WARRANTY. If the valve does become defective within the first year of purchase, U.S. SOLID will gladly replace it.

Intermittent Solenoid Valve

The first item on the installation sheet is "OVERHEATING. These valves are not designed to operate continuously for more than 8 hours”. It would be appropriate to have this warning in the description. In my case the on-time is less than 8 hours, but I have concerns that the thermal time constant relative to the coil temperature is probably much less than 8 hours. If it's on for more than 8 hours, the guide recommends using a computer fan to cool the coil.

Pros
  • As with all US SOLID products, this valve carries a ONE-YEAR WARRANTY. Should a valve fail within the first year of purchase, US SOLID will be happy to replace it.
Cons
  • No instructions

Pressure Required to Close

Product does not work as advertised. It is stated to operate at 0-7psi but will not fully close without constant head pressure. This is almost the same as a sprinkler irrigation valve. Customer service refunded my money; However, this came after several email exchanges in which the support rep was terribly rude to me, constantly implying that it was my fault and that the problem wasn't with their product. I really want this solenoid valve to work for low pressure applications.

Pros
  • This valve is manufactured with a Viton seal. VITON is the most durable and best performing rubber material on the market, able to withstand high temperatures, harsh chemicals and other liquids such as gasoline, diesel, oils and lubricants.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Excellent Economy Solenoid Valve

I bought this solenoid valve and have been using it for a little over 3 weeks in a water system with a thermostatic controller. The quality of the valve is excellent and the function is reliable. Mine operates once 'on' and once 'off' for a total of 6-9 hours 'on' 7 days a week during the summer (May to September). The solenoid valve is easy to disassemble, and each of the three main components appears to be easily interchangeable. I didn't have any instructions but it seemed pretty easy as…

Pros
  • PLEASE NOTE: This valve is NOT a permanent valve and should NOT be used for more than 8 hours in a cycle; this shortens the life of the valve and can lead to burnout of the valve core. If your project requires a continuous flow valve, see our US SOLID Motorized Ball Valves.
Cons
  • Out of style
