Thought $40 meant it would actually last? Haha! There are interspersed metal flaws on the interior of the base that are already rusting out of the box. The inner bottom has faded after one use. Terrible overall shape/design with a tightly attached thermometer mount making it impossible to reach and clean the interior. Send it back in a day. I am happy to offer a non-Chinese kettle that lasts really long.

Great little boiler upgrade for people like me who live above 10,000 feet. I need a strong boil for 5 minutes or more. Even medium-hard water (136 ppm) cannot keep the small original kettle boiling when full without boiling over. These kettles are taller and the stem really makes a big difference in fill quality and heat retention. High quality silicone and we will use it. Until I use the kettle more my rating will be pretty average. The design is definitely interesting and attractive, although I'm not sure how the construction will hold up yet. The lid is very thin and the hinges don't seem to be completely closed. Also the place where the gooseneck connects to the body shows some discoloration spots where the overlapping materials meet.
