If only I had found this sooner!

I was trying to build a 5v system for my motorcycle to power some external electronics. I originally used 4 buck converters. It was a pain to plug in, and it didn't deliver the high current I needed either. 8A max. The module I bought (12V->5V Max 15A) can obviously handle a lot more. I haven't maxed it out, but I intend to get closer! It's smaller than the power supply I built, waterproof, simple and economical! Everything I'm looking for in a product. I've had it plugged in for about a…

Worked great but used in a variety of ways

I built a pair of 3D printed folded horn speakers that I put a Bluetooth amplifier in (also here at Revain) and ran on 24V DC, but i needed a cool folded horn lighting because it looks so cool so i bought blue 12v leds. Plug it into the speaker and it works great. The current is not large (maybe 0.5A). You can see the part just below and behind the speaker cone in the photo above. It didn't get warm after an hour of use, so I didn't have to worry about temperature issues. So just about anywhere

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Amazing little solid state power transformer. 11.99 worth!

So far so good. I took a 12vdc battery and connected it, the output was 5.18vdc. The input voltage of 10 VDC still results in 5.18 VDC. I haven't tested 24V DC yet, but I'm pretty sure it's the same. So far everything is fine, I like the screw terminals a little and very much. Ideal for powering a small fuse box to power the DVR, GPS and charger. will text me through the cellphone shield, and also turn on the flashing strobe lights and blow into the beep at regular intervals. This includes the…

Good converter for the price, no complaints

I've used it for two pairs of grow lights (total 4, 3.3 amps per pair) and it has worked well. My lamps have been fine since I bought them, the digital voltmeter showed 5V all the time. Its size is very convenient because I was able to find a place to attach it, and having prepared the junction box, the installation was very easy. The only reason it's 4/5 and not 5/5 every time you get something with mounting holes is always at least a little disappointing when you don't have nuts + bolts…

Mighty mouse. Give me 5 volts!

I have a very densely packed home file server that really pushes the limits of the case and power supply. In this server I have 36 HDS723030ALA640 Hitachi 3.5" hard drives and a Rosewill Tachyon 1000W PSU, while the Tachyon has a big fat 83A 12V rail. It only has an anemic 20A 5V rail. The HDS723030ALA640 draws 3W on the 5V rail and 7W on the 12V rail, which means 36 drives will overload the power supply by themselves (and they did). My solution was to buy 3 of these DC-DC converters, each…
