I bought this product simply because it was the lowest price per foot I could find anywhere. It's as good as any other sisal I've bought in the past. If I need more I will probably buy again.

That's not what I think. That's what my cats think. And in one word it's MEOW! I tape the sisal rope to a pair of 2x4s and the cats climb them onto the higher perches. It goes up and down, up and down all day. They love it. It means I love it.

We bought sisal because we built our own cat scratching post. We tried buying it in stores but the price was too high for what we needed (it won't go far if you wrap it around the boards). This is the best value for money. We were very happy with this product! And the cats love their new scratching post!

I use this in place of cat scratching posts and I really like that the roll comes in a box so it doesn't spread all over the place. I do the calculations before I cut so I don't have a lot of waste and I make sure to put a piece of tape on the end before I cut. A sharp razor on a block of wood cuts well (it's not that easy to cut with scissors).

It's very hard work! I used hot glue to wrap it around a strong tube for a cat scratching post and it seems to last a long time. I read other reviews before purchasing and I'm glad I did, no smell, nice and clean, easy to pull off center. This will make many more contributions for years to come. The box is heavy when shipped and takes up some space when stored. I almost think I would get 1/4" but 3/8" works great.

Tip: WEAR A MASK - this material is dry and sheds a lot of dusty fibrous particles. I gasped after the first day, and then I saw a ray of sunshine and realized how much was scattered while holding the rope. Wearing a standard sawdust mask is normal and has made a huge difference. I suspect I'll have to vacuum it up after they scratch it a bit to collect more strands on a regular basis.
