Great Blu-ray drive that works great.

I bought this Blu-ray compatible USB 3.0 drive to play BD-R discs and access BD-RW media. So far it has worked great out of the box. Just plug it into your computer's USB 3.0 or USB Type C port and everything else is plug and play. The drive is very quiet and fast. The body is made of aluminum with a plastic frame. It feels strong yet light. The drive door opens and closes very smoothly and is securely fastened. My only concern is that it doesn't come with Blu-ray player/burner software, which…

I'm happy with my new external Blu-Ray at a good price.

Unfortunately my computer doesn't have a DVD driver and I had plenty of CDs of my books to work with, I didn't know at first that I could find an external reader and I have this got it, hoping it works well and it worked! I just had to connect it to my computer and it was recognized immediately. It is compatible with my Windows system. It comes with USB 2 and 3.0 cables. The instructions helped me a lot and have not been lost. I like its size and light, I didn't have to return it or encounter…

That's cheating! for computer components

If you read the product description carefully, it says nothing about the need for free or paid applications. This Blue Ray should work with the player that comes with your laptop. I was sure it would be compatible with my Mac Air and HP. NONE OF THEM WERE SUCCESSFUL! WHEN YOU PURCHASE A PRODUCT THE INSTRUCTIONS WILL DOWN YOU TO THE SITE TO DOWNLOAD THE APP FOR FREE. ONLY FOR 30 DAYS! If you want to spend money on this product plus the money you have to pay for the program to make it work, it's…

Replaced burner as advertised

The unit will burn single layer Blu-ray discs but not dual layer discs. I tried to burn a 40GB movie but it wouldn't burn to an empty 50GB drive. Records beautifully on a 25GB hard drive. The backup burner burns both dual layer and single layer files and makes great Blu-ray copies of my movies. I can recommend this burner.

Do you need drivers to work with the computer

Yes, it looks good, compact, light. BUT, to play DVDs on a computer, you need a driver. There are "FREE" drivers you can find in APPS section; However, they are very slow to respond and full of constant pop-up screens for buying junk items. Or they are only "FREE" for 30 days, after which you need to buy the programs. Please investigate! Find a DVD player that installs the necessary programs to communicate with your computer.

What I received is NOT a Blu-ray player!

The product description states that it is a Blu-Ray DVD drive. The product I received has a Blu-ray label on the front. Imagine my shock when I couldn't open any of the Blu-rays. A paper label on the bottom of the player indicated that it was an external optical disc hard drive. This device is not compatible with Blu-ray discs. I really needed this player for my work assignments at home. The inconveniences were disappointing, to say the least. I should have given the product one star but would…

Nothing but Freeze

Ever since I got this CD I've had nothing but problems. I've tried many software products and installation configurations, but nothing has worked so far. DVD and Blue-Ray discs play but freeze after a while and often I have to close the program to resume playback. Technical support? I can find a manufacturer other than "Made in China" Trying to view a disc is very frustrating.

Great drive and customer service, but plug and play may not work

TL; DR: Once it works, it works great! Use a USB hub, use good software (I recommend Cyberlink PowerDVD) or be prepared for a lot of free software like VLC, be prepared to restart your computer if necessary and forego the setting the PowerDVD refresh rate. ------- -------------- What was meant to be a quick setup turned into a full day of troubleshooting. Initially, when the drive was plugged into the motherboard USB port, it would repeatedly go to sleep when playing media using Cyberlink…

Plug and play with my foot. DO NOT BUY.

First of all I wasn't home when he came and I didn't have time to take care of him. Of course, the "return window" closed a VERY long time ago, so it was advertised as "plug and play" anyway. NO. There are no drivers of any kind. No instructions on how to get drivers, no manuals except for a very bad picture, no help. I have time to play around with it right now, but it seems I've wasted a lot of my precious time. I'll probably sell this damn thing on Craigslist hoping to recoup some of my…

Good product, install VLC app to support it.

Packaging and materials are all very good. Please note that this device is a 2-wire device in case this is not clear. 1. USB3/USB-C connector (either one or the other), 2. separate USB power cord. Power comes from individual USB.4 stars because I had to do a little work to get it to play and here's why: Initially I had trouble playing the DVD. Initially I thought the USB slot I used for power was not suitable. Turns out these were the DVD apps I used. I ended up with a free VLC video player…
