Bought this collar in April 2019 as a complete system. Fenced 4 acres for my young black lab and the system worked flawlessly. In September I noticed her running outside the flags and examining the collar. I found that the case was cracked and water had gotten into the device. Since my dog is an active Lab who loves to play and swim, I decided to purchase a replacement. I bought a replacement collar in October and it arrived last night with an entire unit missing. Don't buy this collar! The mechanical part works fine but I bought the unruly version because my lab has very high demands on collars and it doesn't feel normal when aroused. The day after I bought this collar, it fell apart. Two small metal pins run through a tiny piece at the end of the webbing to hold the mechanism and collar together. It seemed to work fine for several months. We keep our 2 dogs in a 80 x 100 kennel during the day while we work. TL;DR: Be very, very careful when tightening the case after the batteries are installed in the unit. Again, the plastic is extremely weak and cracking essentially guarantees the death of your expensive machine. Cracks are a common problem and allow moisture to penetrate them. DO NOT allow moisture to penetrate! You can even seal the case with thin tape to further protect it from water/environment.
