Strong rope, use with #16 anchor

Use with a 16# anchor in both fresh and salt water, seems strong and takes up much less space than my previous rope (twisted). I also have a puller to pull the anchor and I was a little worried how it would hold up but so far so good, it pulls and floats the anchor perfectly with an 11 inch buoy. The price is right too, so I like it

Pros
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Lightweight Fused Nose Line

When I first opened the packaging I was disappointed by how light and fragile the line was, but I decided to give it a try. It worked fine for a couple of weeks until I was using my boat one night and found that the bow light (which was off) was melting the rope after anchoring my boat so I have weakness now. It also tangles more easily than a twisted rope.

Pros
  • MFP is lightweight and buoyant with low stretch and minimal water absorption; it is resistant to salt water, gas, oil, acids, abrasion and UV radiation
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Solid braided line, works well and is flexible.

Solid braided line, works well, nice and flexible but difficult to braid even with the right tool. I haven't tested this under load, but it should work fine for our purpose. We use it as an anchor line on a 21ft jet boat, our lake is calm and not that deep. It's a nice light and flexible leash, I don't expect our use to exceed the rated strength. A stainless steel thimble screwed into the line is not a very thick material, but it will do.

Pros
  • Working Load Limit: 445 lbs / Tear Strength: 2220 lbs.

Not for rivers and block systems.

Purchased to be used as an anchor line for a river raft. I've used it 3 times on limestone and limestone influences. The rope is beginning to fray and may be worn out. I'm not sure if this anchor line is designed to rub against rocks, but it does happen. I bought it because it was flexible, lay well on the raft, and seemed like it wouldn't "curl up". But unfortunately it starts to twist and create kinks which eventually get stuck in my pulley blocks and prevent the anchor from dropping. I think

Pros
  • Hard braided structure, smooth and flexible, resistant to bending and buckling.
Cons
  • Expensive
