I used it to hide the chrome. That was my first experience with vinyl. It wasn't too difficult. I used a heat gun in a few places. I bet a hair dryer will work too because it doesn't take a lot of heat to stretch it out. I left a few spots with slight creases, they tend to get worse as they settle so make sure everything is very smooth.

This product is pretty easy to use, looks great! I recommend removing the plastic before applying, just personal preference makes it easier to maneuver the tape when making and cutting. You don't have to use a heat gun or heat it for it to stick; If you want an elastic band like other vinyls, this is not what you need.

First of all this is a great product overall but not for what I intended; If, like me, you want to get rid of chrome, use plastic dip. 1/4 the price and can be picked up on site. Too many visible flaws if you don't spend all day with them. The hardest part is applying to the grooves and corners.

Chrome car grille. Adhesion is limited by temperature. An external heat source is a prerequisite for good adhesion. Shrouded in cool weather. I was able to easily pull and reposition many times to ensure proper stretch and fit. An additional plus is a transparent removable layer to protect the shiny side from scratches during installation.

Waste of money. I ordered this product for the first time, not even advertised it yet. The roll came to half the specified length. Sent this back and ordered another only to find out the same thing happened, they sent me a roll that is only about 15ft long. Aside from two flaws, the quality of the vinyl is just terrible. It has orange peel and spots. Completely disappointed.

Ribbon Excellent product! Came with blade and tool. The tape is easy to apply and looks great. Highly recommended for plating chrome finish! 1. Clean chrome trim with alcohol wipes, allow to dry and apply tape. After the tape was cut, applied, and wrapped around the fairing, I used a blow dryer to seal the tape. (by request). Angle, angle, angle! You don't get corners. I tried and tried until I said forget it. I have a creative eye for this and it looks tasteless. Up close it still looks like a black band, from a distance it looks fine. You need a lot more tools than what they give you. I tried to waste a foot or two of this stuff chrome plating my windows and my 2017 Ford Fusion. Note this is advertised as 3M but the vinyl roll sent to me is definitely not a 3M product and is not 3M branded. I will update this review if the replacement is actually 3M, but I would avoid this list entirely as there is a good chance you will end up with a counterfeit product at a higher price.
