This fan has performed well in my 2,700 square foot home as a horizontally mounted attic exhaust fan. He has been working about 10 hours every night for the past 3 months. I am aware that my installation is not "coded" - neither electrically (see the switch on the side of the device in the picture) nor according to the manufacturer's specifications (must be installed vertically). The product was installed immediately after purchase in early November, but until recently it was not used except for testing. Here in Atlanta it wasn't hot enough to turn it on, it's connected to the thermostat switch. After no more than ten hours of running for several days, the engine seized. Try contacting the manufacturer and retailer to see if the problem can be resolved. When it worked, the airflow consumed was less. Big. The rating will change if I get a replacement. , so when I first got it I immediately noticed that the frame is larger than 12x12. So I just gave it up, it wasn't easy and that's good and bad.
