A more appropriate product name would be FLUSH GUM

The pair I received stinks. I use them to cut polymer so it doesn't look like I've overused them cutting hardened steel. They just don't fit well together and really just glue the polymer to death. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No machine

Light Duty with Terrible Locking System

The plastic strap that keeps the handles closed destroys the cutout in the handle. Mine cracked and peeled after minimal use and a few months in the tool box. After clipping the finish nail which was a little hard and lost part of the blade I used it a second time. I'm guessing they're only good up to 18 ga, maybe 16 ga before they start getting damaged.

High quality edge banding tool.

I bought this tool on the advice of a master carpenter who has a youtube channel. Before buying this tool I used a knife. This tool makes binding a flush cut edge very easy. It also has a sense of quality. I'm 71 years old but if I had my whole life ahead of me I know it would last a lifetime if given proper care and sharpening from time to time.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • cord is shorter than other picks

Knife not aligned

I saw this recommendation for edge banding online. Unfortunately the blades are misaligned on the device I received. I'd say it's a millimeter at the top and certainly enough not to cut flush. Now I have to go to UPS to get a replacement - a minor inconvenience but still impractical. I'll update this review when I get a replacement and get back to you.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

These knives don't cut.

These knives were too dull to cut. I tried them on a very thin piece of plastic that the tool crushed rather than cut. The extreme tips of the edges are in contact, but there is a 1-2mm gap between the remaining working length no matter how hard the handles are squeezed. So. Do I have to grind the edges to reproduce and sharpen them, or do I (no pun intended) cut my losses and return this inefficient tool?

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Working speed

Another Fastcup winner!

I have most of the Fastcap edge banding tools and a box of other Fastcap products. They make quality instruments right here in the US (Washington) and this one is no exception. It effortlessly cuts the veneer edge right to the edge every time. They also endorse their products, which most companies don't do these days. If you are in the edge banding business, get one of these and check out their other products!

Mediocre at edge trimming

These pliers were purchased to flush trim the ends of edges on drawers. Although they represented a significant time saver to achieve this goal compared to using a razor, they were found to be insufficient for this purpose. The edge of the knife I received had a notch about 2/3 the length of one of the blades. This created an unevenness in the strip when cutting and resulted in that segment having to be sanded flush. The blade material feels "soft" and is more likely to warp when used to cut…

  • Excellent overall performance

Better than a utility knife

For a long time I simply cut off the excess length of the edging tape with an office knife. There wasn't always a clean cut since you're cutting across the grain. I've also tried a few dikes, but they never cut straight. There always seems to be some left over, and sanding that little bit has sometimes damaged the strip. Bought these tongs and they live up to their name. The cut was perfect from the start. Very easy to use/manipulate and is spring loaded to open the pliers for the next cut. I…

Great pliers but trouble gripping

I use these pliers flush to remove bolts from soft lead fishing tackle. The pliers do an excellent job on flush cuts, but the handles on the pliers slip, twist, etc. When I received the pliers, I found it odd that the product tag was attached to the handle through a through hole. handle and metal handle. I believe this hole may be the reason why one side of the handle has a lot of problems. Also, the handle on either side of this hole is beginning to crack. Because Lead Gates are soft and a bit

Another disappointing Fastcap product

Now I've bought some Fastcap products and found something about the company. Great ideas, mediocre execution, always too expensive for what you get. These cutters fit that description. They offer a convenient solution to a small problem. They give a nice straight cut. But they're kind of mushy. First, the spring is not fixed at all and popped out every time I used it. It's only a matter of time before I lose it completely. I'm sure I could find a way to fix it locally, but I wouldn't have to…
