Better than stock seals

I used this on a 2014 Dodge Caravan. The storage tray was RTV sealed at the factory. It could be so, but why? This pad worked flawlessly. Just be careful not to overtighten. It can get pinched and cause leakage. I removed a factory Dodge RTV before installing this one. Highly recommended.

  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Reliability

Better than a pad

Much better than an OEM liquid pad. I don't like sealing fluid pans (transmission or diff) with a spacer. First, it's messy, difficult to manage, and in my experience, that's not always true. It takes all guesswork out. Fel-Pro makes great pads. Just put it on as specified and you're done.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Fixed transmission sump leak

transmission sump leaked after dealer replaced transmission filter/fluid, original install is silicone. Installed this seal and the problem was solved. There are no installation instructions, I settled on a bolt torque of 50 in/lb which is less than factory specs, the gasket pinches everywhere and so far I haven't had any leaks.

Perfect Fit: Transmission Oil Pan

Replaced the factory sticky pad that was leaking, replaced the transmission filter and fluid since I disassembled it. Be sure to measure what you remove. I made mine cold and it took me 5.5 liters to get it back to the recommended hot level. Get a dipstick, a filter and a long thin funnel to make your life easier. Also monitor the heating process to ensure the fluid level is correct.

Great addition to a pallet

Chrysler spec says you don't need a gasket, RTV is enough. I got the padding the way some other owners suggested and also just used a thin layer of RTV. It worked well, and I have to say that just this weekend the bouncer's gear sump was hit right off the bat by a large rock I accidentally ran over while driving through a canyon pass and not a drop fell out. A good addition to the Transpanel.

  • Ideal for a small home

Perfect fit for Caravan 2009 with 4.0 and 62HP gearbox.

This seal was perfect for a 2009 caravan with 4.0 and 62HP gearbox. Just make sure the torque is within factory specs, which was a lot less than I expected. My guess is that people who have had leaks overtightened the sump and didn't get a good "seal" of the gasket. Not a drop of gear oil. I've had good luck with Fel-Pro transmission pan gaskets in the past and I believe they will last until the pan is removed again (if it ever needs to be removed again).

Pros
  • Cool Stuff
Cons
  • Something different

I installed this gasket with Dorman Transmission Pan (with drain plug) 265-833 on a 62TE Transmission (2015 Dodge Caravan). This is a great alternative to the manufacturer's recommendation to use an RTV gasket maker. Before replacing the original transmission sump with an RTV gasket, I noticed that there were leaks around the sump. So I cleaned all the areas around the transmission pan of the oil/fluid so I could easily spot any leaks with this Fel-Pro gasket. The seal looks and feels like a…

Well packed fiber seal (no rubber)

Will be changing the transmission oil on my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan soon. I bought this gasket to avoid using sealant as the pan is factory sealed. It appears to be a fiber seal and not the rubber seal that comes with some aftermarket filters. I believe this fiber gasket is your best bet if you decide to use a gasket (rather than just a sealant). After reading many reviews of aftermarket filters that come with a gasket (some without). It seems that the gaskets that come with these filters do…
