What the hell? in 3D printing filament

Opened the package, inserted the spool, cut off the winding part of the filament attached to the spool tab, inserted the cut end into the printer, and started printing. Worked in the yard for a while more. After 2 hours, 30ft of filament is on the ground and the print failed. The spool they gave me had a wrong end. As it was pulled into the printer, the spool rotated and the actual end detached from the spool and began to unravel. Once the free piece of filament wound on the spool ran out, theโ€ฆ

Strange hotspot, but good results after calibration.

I only bought this filament to print lithophane. This brand and style was recommended by a few different Litophan sites so I decided to give it a try. I tried printing at my normal PLA temperatures on my direct drive Artillery Genius (like the Sidewinder, only smaller). I was having tension, bleed and warping issues just trying to make some lithophane test prints. So I did what I usually do when a thread gives me trouble. I ran the temperature tower. I recommend doing this with any yarn that is

SUSPECTED WRONG LABEL, NOT PLA. **NO RESPONSE FROM ERYONE**

This reel has been sold and marked PLA. It's almost certainly PETG. I don't have a lab, but PLA melts at 190-220 degrees and this plastic doesn't extrude below 235. The layer temp should be 60 for PLA, but at that temp it doesn't stick at all. . PLA says on the box and on the roll, but the temperatures listed don't work. This is when it quacks like a duck. . .I bought this on January 26, 2021 but they are not currently listed on Revain. After reading other negative comments I think I'm not theโ€ฆ
