Not sure if I have a lemon or something. The gauge I received may not have been properly calibrated as the temperature displayed is consistently higher than the actual water temperature. I found it ok and adjusted the temp higher to get my desired water temp. Like many others. Apparently this temperature sensor is not calibrated. That's about 1F too low. In addition, the temperature sensor has a very short cable for large tanks. Otherwise it looks like it will work. UPDATE: Ironically, as someone else mentioned, this failed after 13 months of use. I'm pretty sure the temperature sensor is the defective part. Based on the feedback here and on several forums I visit, I had higher expectations. I knew the temp sensor would be short and I was able to work around that.
