Drill Bit Larger Than Chisel, Blades Serrated

For the price of this item I expect pretty much perfection - it's three times more expensive than 'regular' chisels, but the drill boasts a square chisel. So instead of a straight side cut I have a jagged edge which then takes a lot of awkward chiseling to get it straight. At this point, I might as well have cut them by hand. LV's Japanese gouges are much better (but of course they were out of stock). Disappointed to have been a very good beat brand in the past.

Superb quality: power tool parts and accessories

This is a very high quality tool that does the job perfectly. I'm new to swotting so I could be wrong about what a medium tool is. It's an extremely hard metal and the drill makes a huge rumble when not working with the material. I've tried dry lube and moly mist and it helped a little but not much. I wanted a 5/8" plunge cutter, even though a small drill bit can cut up to 5/8 in multiple passes, mostly because the reason I bought the plunge cutter was to make it easier. 5/8 allows me to make…

Don't know what went wrong

This was my first chisel and the overall quality seems great. After many hours of studying slotting machines and chisels. I felt like I made good choices for both. I bought a Power Magic Slotter, this chisel and a matching set of 4 (1/4" - 1/2"). The first thing I did was lightly sharpen the inside with a thin taper and sharpen the outside with as sharp an edge as possible.
