It remains to remove the tie rod end

They say you can pull the boot on the tie rod end. Don't see what's going on. I could barely get it on the locknut. The boots feel quite sturdy and once fit well.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Without power

Wrong trunk/car

Amazon Car Fit says fit Toyota 03 Landcruiser. I compare it to the one from the dealer. this article does not fit. It has a nipple and the outside diameter at both ends is much smaller than the dealer. Therefore, it is not suitable for this car to return them. Luckily I didn't even try to install it as I'm waiting for the inner tie rod to arrive before attaching the trunk. So order another one which Amazon also said would fit my car, it looks like it in the picture so we'll see.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Doesn't fit my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder

Despite claiming to be universal this boot doesn't fit my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. And while there are trim points to help adjust to a specific model, they're not precise enough to matter. The seller must also keep in mind that all cars are designed differently and trying to get enough access to pull the trunk up and onto the strut bushing is simply not possible (at least from the driver's side). It was a waste of time. In the future I will order camp boots.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Generally ok but...

Not designed for a full size truck

Might go with a Toyota or Clown car but definitely not a full size truck. My truck is a Dodge Ram 1500. The first thing that struck me is that these boots are significantly shorter than the stock boots. Okay, it's stretching, so I installed the first boot. There were no instructions. They came with some sort of installation tool but the only use I found for it was something to throw in as I got really frustrated trying to install this thing on the steering rack. Two hours later, lots of…

These are twin tie rods for babies!

These boots work as described. I failed the government test because of a leaky, "dripping" steering system with torn anthers that no longer sealed around the tie rod. I was told I needed a whole new rack and pinion for $1,400 plus alignment, the price of a car. It was hard not to laugh. With my steering working fine despite a very slow leak, I knew I just had to clean the assembly and seal it with new boots. Went with them so I didn't even need alignment, I had to remove the tie rod ends. After

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity
