Doesn't heat water

The heater just didn't work right out of the box. I installed it in my aquarium for a week, got the thermostat, the water is cold, touched the heater and it was cold all the time, waste of money and time.

That happens all too often with those pre-installed heaters. It's awful how awfully they're made. I will never again have a

It's getting very hot. 83-84 degrees

Pretty and compact holds up very well at any temperature it turns off. This is where the good ends. It doesn't even reach the declared 76-78 degrees. Ran to 84 before shutdown. I contacted Fluval customer service and was told to send it back as it turned out to be defective. I also have a P10 that does the same thing. I also reported this and was told that both are defective. The date of manufacture 20/21 is printed on the back of the heater. Temperatures measured with Thermapen and compared to
