Starnuts are obsolete.

It may take a few tries to get it right, but once the flared part grips you're done. Now I have them on all three wheels. I never liked star nuts. They solve the same problem, and they do it elegantly.

Doubtless best in Headsets

It was packed in plain plastic packaging. not a box, not a single piece of paper from the FSA. and what really struck me were the tiny scratches on the top that showed how badly the logo was drawn. Didn't give me much compression so avoid it.

Pros
  • Handlebars, Headsets and Stems
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Don't worry about other self-expanding plugs.

Closes tightly, very light weight 40 grams. The top cover does not bend. Unlike the cheaper plug, the steerer tube does not need to be cut 5mm below the stem. The only downside is that when you tighten the top cover, the whole cover turns and rubs on the stem.

Pros
  • Sport
Cons
  • Low repairability

DEFECTIVE CHARACTER - STOPS OVER TIME, SEPARATES WHEN TIGHTENED!

The title of my review speaks for itself. I've ridden 200 miles on two of my bikes that each had a top cap installed. Both bikes had stem wobble and looseness that occurred over a 45 day period, 200 miles on each bike, 3 rides a week on each bike. I ride fire road and restricted singletrack in the Washington state mountains, moving down the cliff at about 30 mph, but mostly in standard fire road conditions. I don't do tricks, jumps and jumps; My wheels stay fairly grounded, except for hitting…
