Ugh difficult to understand

I'm good at tech (programmer) but for some reason I can't figure it out. Also, the base camp is TERRIBLE. I basically paid over $300 for a striper. That's all I can do. Maps and routing are too complicated. It's probably possible to get a lower version if I just wanted to note. Okay, I'll keep going, and maybe I'll get to it at some point. I don't trust that thing.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

READ ALL REVIEWS AND DON'T THINK THEY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS

I read all the negative reviews and concluded that a wearable will work as all my marine products are Garmin work as advertised too. Even after reading about the need to work out a base map and to purchase additional hunting maps for places I go frequently ($90 each), I took a chance. I couldn't download the map I bought. After trying this from two different computers on two different networks, I contacted support. They sent me a troubleshooting link that wouldn't open. After following the…

Good direct GPS

This Garmin GPS worked great during my Arizona hike through the Grand Canyon and other Arizona areas. I also used it while exploring the Arizona desert mountains side-by-side on a Polaris RZR. It actually showed various main off-road tracks, I was surprised! Arizona topographic map is preloaded. The map had all the Arizona routes I needed. Before leaving the launch path I would mark it as a waypoint after deleting the previous waypoint. Make sure you clear your previous tracks from the previous

Great Hiker GPS - BaseCamp Not So Much

I've been using Garmin GPS Hikers since 1996. I really liked the Garmin 60Csx GPS Navigator. It was easy to use. With MapSource, file management is a dream come true. After 12 years of service, however, it's time to get a new GPS. I chose the 64Csx because I wanted a modern device with some extra features like a camera and flashlight/flash. I had serious problems activating my device and downloading maps from the Garmin website. I spent two hours on the phone with tech support to finally…

iPhone is preferable to this device Garmin

Old-school technology, but not easy to use and not without serious flaws. I sent the device back. I've had no issues with other GARMIN devices including my trusty bike computer. Everything just connects to my iPhone and MAC via Garmin apps. The MAPGPS 64sx has impressive GPS accuracy with multiple satellite choices and decent battery life. I like that it's light and small enough to fit in a cargo bag. However, something as simple as looking up an address won't work because the state won't be…
