Large tank cap lock

I am very happy with this lockable gas cap. I was a little apprehensive about reviews that mentioned locking/unlocking difficulties, but so far I haven't had any issues. I've had locking gas caps in the past (I used to work in retail and found that while my car was left unattended in the far corners of the parking lot for several hours, I would end up returning to an empty tank) and I feel this is comparable to what I had in the past. I actually bought it hoping it would turn off my check…

You have to use two hands to unlock it.

The locking mechanism is spring-loaded, requiring you to use both hands to hold the key open with one hand and turn the cap with the other hand. If the lid is in a small compartment and you have big hands, well, it's a pain in the ass. Curiously, the same manufacturer supplies another version of the cover that doesn't have this "feature". I returned this one and bought another just like the one I had for 16 years. I had to replace it because I dropped it at a gas station and the old plastic was

Don't waste money. It doesn't lock.

Non lockable. It also feels like cheap plastic, but if it worked I wouldn't care. Wherever I turn the key, the threaded part turns with the tip. I can turn the key, although it forces me to go back to the same place to pull the key out each time. The key spins back and forth as if doing something, but actually it isn't. I still wear it as a visual deterrent. Maybe the culprit who pumped my gas last time sees the keyhole and doesn't realize it unscrews like a spare tire cap. If he doesn't try…

Check engine light on

The only thing I liked about this little thing was the price. The reasons why I didn't like this product are listed below for two reasons: - Engine check included. After I installed this gas cap on my Jeep, the check engine light came on a few days later. I didn't know what the problem was with this cover but when I got the error codes from the dash I said hook up the computer and clear the codes. - after sticking the key on it, I noticed that the lid can be opened without a key. press on both…

After refueling, the freewheel had to be switched on with two hands.

Gates 31836. Insert the key, turn counterclockwise to lock the cap, which must be removed before filling with petrol. Leave the key in the lock for installation. To "click to close the cap” on the fuel filler neck, turn the key, not the cap. At this point you need to hold the gas cap and turn the key clockwise to set the locking mechanism to the "free rotation" position. If the cap is not held still, the lock will only click when rotated clockwise as the cap and key lock rotate and the lock…

Thank God! - Cap

I had the exact same gas cap on my Nissan Frontier LE 4X4 for about seven years. It worked very well, if a little tricky with the key at times, but that's the usual rule and not the exception for many different brands of gas caps. Then a week ago I drove off to fill up an almost empty tank - And you know what? I couldn't take the cap off. I felt like I might have made it if I had struggled with it, but then I was afraid I wouldn't be able to replace it or it would be blocked. So I searched Ammy

2010 Nissan Rogue, works perfectly

Due to massive gas theft and vandalism in my area along a busy main road, the neighbors have emptied their tanks several times in broad daylight. So as soon as I got my car, I bought this gas cap. It wasn't that easy to remove the rubber band from the factory gas cap, but that's another story. I have found that to get a good seal you have to turn right until you hear a loud pop, then you can turn it left and it spins freely until the key is inserted and turned to 12 o'clock. clock position…
