. the tension bracket did not have a locating pin like the original

Although the tension bracket did not have a locating pin like the original. I ended up using the original bracket with a new pulley tensioner. The alignment pin helps to align the bracket correctly. It helps if you use the 2 longer timing cover screws. Great price, great quality. Definitely recommended if you have Neon 2002-2005.

Gates sets are really great - instructions were hard to read

Gates sets are really great - instructions are hard to read, vague. Follow the procedure in the Neon service manual. Leave the tensioner slack until you have the belt on, then align it with the long mounting bolts. Gates belts can be a bit stiff, it helps to soak the belt in very hot water for about 10 minutes and then install it.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Reliability

0l HO engine is great. Belt is good

Everything Fits perfectly with my 2004 Dodge Neon 2.0L HO engine The belt is complete. Make sure you order a cam seal if you do this and unscrew the cam gear while the belt is still in place. Helps mark the old belt on both sprockets and transfer the marks to the new belt. You will need various types of 15mm wrenches to reach all of the bolts in the tight spot and a Chrysler harmonic balancer puller to remove the pulley from the crankshaft.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

good product for belts, hoses and pulleys

I rebuilt the 2.0L in my 1999 Breeze and this kit was just what I needed. There is a good guide in the box with a sheet explaining the procedure for a new type of tensioner and also a sheet showing various changes to tensioner designs - this is what you need, not the horrible 1st design that tension loses, the belt breaks, and bends valves (engine noise). The hydraulic style is fine, but this one is better without losing tension on the belt when you tighten the mounting nut properly. This…

So far, so good.

So far so good. The parts came in a box that looks like it was sent back, it looks like the wrong timing belt drive and tensioner was put in the box. I'm trying to contact Revain about this. I bought the kit with the motor mount as the mount needs to be replaced. I figured it would be best to make a timing belt out of it since my car has almost 100,000 miles on it. I have to wait to confirm that this part can be used on my 2.0 liter engine before starting work. - Update - Yes the parts were…

If your neon is equipped with a hydraulic tensioner, DO NOT USE THIS ITEM

I purchased this kit for a 2001 Dodge Neon Plymouth and wasn't sure what type of tensioner it was but when this item arrived there was a sheet in the box explaining that this kit all Covers Dodge Neon applications regardless of tensioner type (3 different systems), so when I got to work I found that the Neon had a hydraulic tensioner (a completely different tensioner and bracket than that in this kit). , finished the install and every time I tried to turn the motor by hand the new belt would…

Pros
  • . It is OK!
Cons

Adjusted well enough, fast delivery although not perfect.

This really fits the Dodge Neon 02 and your mechanic can easily replace it for you. This kit really fits the Dodge Neon 02. The only issue I had installing this kit, apart from the whole installation process, was that the aluminum frame of the timing belt tensioner (4 leg part) didn't fit snugly. . It was an exact shape in every way except for a hole in one of the "legs"; The original had a long piece of tubing that didn't fit through this hole and protruded about a quarter of an inch into the…
